Maaynei Hayeshua Medical Center in Bnei Brak has appointed Prof. Eyal Winkler as Director of the Department of Plastic Surgery and the Pediatric Burns Unit.
Maaynei Hayeshua Medical Center in Bnei Brak has appointed Prof. Eyal Winkler as Director of the Department of Plastic Surgery and the Pediatric Burns Unit. The recruiting of Prof. Winkler, previously Director of the Department of Plastic Surgery and the Burns Unit in Sheba Tel Hashomer Hospital, is part of the hospital management’s strategic move to expand the services offered in the field of plastic-reconstructive surgery for the Haredi community, while simultaneously addressing the general market as well.
The expansion of the plastic surgery services is but one in a series of steps recently taken by the Medical Center’s management, with the allocation of funds and recruiting of leading medical experts in many fields including among gynecology, psychiatry, internal medicine, and more.
The Medical Center’s management explains that the vision is to expand and upgrade the services offered, enabling Prof. Winkler and the team that will be recruited to push the hospital forward. Maaynei Hayeshua Medical Center Director Prof. Moti Ravid said that “The plastic surgery department’s expansion program, led by Prof. Winkler, is a strategic step to place Maaynei Hayeshua at the forefront of medical technology. This step includes opening consultation clinics and operating rooms to be used for plastic surgery, including malignant skin and facial tumors, treatment and prevention of cancer in women, and, in the near future – also pediatric burn treatment services.”
About Prof. Winkler
Prof. Eyal Winkler, a graduate of the Ben Gurion University’s Faculty of Medicine, began his professional career in Sheba Tel Hashomer, and served as Director of the Department of Plastic Surgery and Burns Unit at the hospital between 2011-2015. In his work at Tel Hashomer, Prof. Winkler performed reconstructive surgery on patients suffering from burns, trauma, and cancer, and was also responsible for all services provided to the melanoma patients in the unit. From 2005 to 2009, he served as Chairman of the Israeli Society for Plastic Surgery.
Prof. Winkler has over thirty years’ experience in the field and is a licensed plastic surgery specialist, as well as sub-specializing in microsurgery. In addition to his work in the hospital, Prof. Winkler is manager of the Winkler Clinic for plastic surgery and is considered to be one of the most prominent surgeons in this field.
